9 Years of Impact: Gazette Media Group Hosts Excellence Awards Ceremony

On October 25, 2025, The Gazette Media Group celebrated its 9th anniversary and the second edition of the Media Excellence Awards with a special ceremony honoring outstanding personalities in the community.

 A Message from the Publisher

During the ceremony, Publisher Wambo Emmanuel reflected on the growth of The Gazette since its inception in July 2016 at Ayaba Hotel. He acknowledged the contributions of Mr. Frederick Takang and Mr. Chong Chrisantus, emphasizing the organization's commitment to delivering credible, impactful, and community-driven news coverage in the North West Region and throughout Cameroon.

"Our jury has decided to recognize individuals from all walks of life, starting with those often overlooked," Emmanuel stated. "We are awarding bike riders, taxi drivers, and private security guards for their invaluable contributions to our community. Congratulations to our winners!"

Emmanuel extended his heartfelt congratulations to the laureates, highlighting their dedication and expertise. He encouraged those who did not win to continue striving for excellence, assuring them that the media would take notice of their efforts.

Award Winners

Among the distinguished honorees:

  • Kebila Sylvester aka Igodie (Dream FM Radio) was recognized as the Best Pidgin News Broadcaster, marking his sixth award for making a significant impact in Pidgin news through humorous reporting. He dedicated this award to Pidgin News broadcasters nationwide for their collaborative efforts.

  • Pedmia Shatu, Communication Focal Point and Social Media Manager at Bamenda Regional Hospital, received an award for her outstanding contributions to promoting digital health initiatives.

  • Kebua Charles from My Media Prime TV was awarded the title of Most Productive NW Private TV Journalist.

  • Mba-ateh Eunice, Manager of Mawa Hotel, was honored with the Best Touristic Site and Service Delivery Hotel award, recognizing her resilience amidst the Anglophone Crisis and the passing of their Proprietor.

  • Tebeck Alphonse from Star TV was awarded Best NW Private TV News Broadcaster.

 Nchang Carine was also recognized as Best Private Journalist News Broadcaster.

Numerous other awards were presented to transporters, media practitioners, artists, politicians, and more, celebrating the diverse contributions to the community.
