CAMASEJ Provides Financial Assistance to Support Children of Deceased Members

The Cameroon Association of English-Speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ) has taken a significant step to support the children of its deceased members by providing back-to-school financial assistance totaling nearly 2 million FCFA. A total of 22 children from 10 deceased members across five chapters nationwide will benefit from this initiative.

This initiative, spearheaded by the National Bureau, underscores CAMASEJ's commitment to standing with the families of its members who have passed away. The association aims to ensure that these children continue to access education despite the challenges they face.

Breakdown of Beneficiaries:

  • *Bamenda Chapter*: 8 children of 5 late members will receive 600,000 FCFA
    - *Kumba Chapter*: 9 children of 2 late members will receive 675,000 FCFA
    - *Limbe Chapter*: 2 children of 1 late member will receive 150,000 FCFA
    - *Yaoundé Chapter*: 2 children of 1 late member will receive 150,000 FCFA
    - *Douala Chapter*: 1 child of 1 late member will receive 75,000 FCFA

Speaking on this initiative, CAMASEJ National President Viban Jude emphasized that, "This back-to-school support reflects our solidarity as a family of journalists. While our colleagues may be gone, we remain committed to ensuring their children are not forgotten."

Each child will receive 75,000 FCFA to assist with school fees, books, and related expenses for the 2025/2026 academic year. The funds will be channeled through Chapter Presidents for onward transmission.
