On Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Momo For Peace and Unity Super Sports Competition concluded with a vibrant celebration in Mbengwi, under the distinguished patronage of H.E. Justice Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam. This highly anticipated event, launched on June 29, showcased the spirit of unity and sportsmanship among the communities of the Momo Division.
A Grand Finale
The finals drew an impressive crowd, including dignitaries such as the Senior Divisional Officer, Members of Parliament, Regional Councillors, Mayors, and various Fons. Their presence underscored the significance of this event for the region.
The tournament began simultaneously in the five sub-divisions of Momo. After a series of matches, each sub-division sent two teams each in football and handball to compete in the finals, culminating in a thrilling league format. The winners were awarded impressive cash prizes: 3 million frs for first place in football, 1 million frs for second, and 500,000 frs for third.
A Message of Gratitude
During the event, Ndangsa Kennedy Akam, the Mayor of Mbengwi, delivered a heartfelt address, welcoming all attendees and expressing deep gratitude to H.E. Justice Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam for her ongoing support of the community. He highlighted numerous projects that had transformed Mbengwi over the past five years, including:
- The construction of a modern slaughterhouse
- Extension of electricity to several villages

Justice Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam took the opportunity to advocate for education, urging parents to send their children back to school in uniform. “I will provide 100 uniforms for the first students who go to school dressed appropriately,” she announced, highlighting her commitment to fostering educational excellence.

Fokob Moris Tagyen , President of the Organizing Committee, noted, “This tournament allowed us to award outstanding pupils and students, as well as discover new talents through a Youth Talents Show.” Participants received cash prizes, further motivating the youth of Momo.

Football legend Rigobert Song Bahanag joined H.E. Justice Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam in supporting the tournament, presenting the award for Best Male Defender. Additionally, Samuel Eto'o fils, President of Fecafoot, contributed to the festivities by providing a special package for the Man of the Match.
Cameroon Youth council for Momo took the opportunity to Bestow Upon her Excellency , the title of Youth Ambassador for Momo Division.
